London Day One

We made it! After a very long and sleepless (for me) night we made it into London around 11. We were hoping to get into the room and nap but it was around 2 before we got in so we just waited in the lounge and tried to stay awake.

After only Shawn and I napped we took a walk to find some dinner and bathing suits since apparently this hotel has a pool! We had some yummy wood fired pizza for dinner but couldn’t track down any bathing suits for the kids. I’m sure we’ll find some tomorrow.

I’m still pretty tired, but I think tomorrow will be a good start, we scooped out some good breakfast spots, and made plans to meet one of Shawn’s colleagues for coffee. Then it’ll be off on a big bus tour!

Pimms!!Trying to stay awake at the Hilton London Metropole.Three excited passengers! Three sleepy passengers, the only bright side to me being unable to fall asleep on the overnight is that I was able to take this picture of them cuddling.Nathan on the platform for the heathrow express. This was at the Ottawa airport, I’m so happy because Shawn was able to get us a direct flight!Kids playing with the power adapters for the UK.
Right now it’s 9pm London time and I’ve got the kids reading while Shawn goes to get us some Oyster cards and who knows what else. As soon as he is back it’s bed for them and not soon after for me too!

Fun Night?

I’m planning the school carnival. Im not sure why I do these things to myself.

Here was my day today.

6:30-7 feed pets, discover pool pump not working, text Shawn regarding broken pool pump. Make two lunches one with extra snacks for forest school.

7-8 wake up children, yell at them to get dressed, eat breakfast, brush teeth, and hair. Have phone convo with Shawn about pool pump, prime the pool pump with a hose. Have coffee, and protein shake for breakfast.

8-8:30 hang up laundry outside and out a new load in the washer, today will be nice need to get as many loads done as possible. Do French lesson, fix makeup, spray whole body with sunscreen, and spray Caitlyn before she leaves, get Nathan too.

8:30 drive to Forest School, have convo with Forest School teacher about kid who has been bullying Nathan.

9:15-10:40 volunteer at Caitlyn’s school library, have convo with Librarian about next year. I’ll be back!

10:40-11:10 drive home drinking cold coffee from original drive out to forest school.

11:40-12:15 walk Holly, she is very mad about being left at home all day yesterday during field trip.

12:15-12:25 drink protein shake and make coffee, but don’t drink it yet.

1:30-2 bring Finn home, stop at Naomi’s house to pick up chips and more prizes for Fun Night.

2-2:15 come home to drop off prizes.

2:15-2:30 try to drop off prizes at school for Fun Night but can’t find VP who has the key to the storage room. Leave stuff in her office and make mental note to email apology.

2:30-2:37 RUN into freshco to buy stuff to make teacher appreciation lunch food.

2:37-3 slightly speeding drive to Forest School to pick up Nathan. All good with the bully.

3-3:15 drive like a madwoman to Caitlyn’s school and pick her up.

3:15-4 drive home, there’s lots of traffic

4-4:30 tidy main floor before piano teacher arrives.

4:45 piano teacher arrives, continue to cook sloppy joes.

5 re-rediscover coffee in microwave, thrownout and start writing this post.

5:15 finish sloppy joes start making pancakes for Fun Night.

5:30 finish pancakes and start making dinner…BBQ’d hotdogs and salad. So healthy.

5:45 piano teacher leaves, save this post for later.

5:50 eat dinner, yell at kids to eat their salad, Nathan does and Caitlyn pushes it around her plate.

6:05 tell Nathan to find socks and sunscreen him from head to toe.

6:10 – 6:30 go pick up Daniel drive to Cubs. Accidentally take kids to wrong place, then re route and get them to correct rocket launching location.

6:30-6:40 walk FOREVER to get to correct field.

6:40 -7:30 go to Canadian Tire to pick up baby pools for Fun Night, Naomi, and Martha. Drop Martha’s off at her house and come home.

7:31 write this post so I remember that I didn’t spend my time as a stay at home mom watching tv, but I did just eat some peanut butter cups.

Still to do tonight: pick up Nathan, Daniel, and Henry, bring them home and then Nathan home to go to bed.

Get laundry off the line

Tidy up after dinner

Make song list for Sparks day camp

Finish making prize bags for Fun Night

Make Naomi a birthday cake, that’s easy but impressive.

Make posters for the doors at school for Fun Night.

Tomorrow is a new day but is sure to be just as busy.

Here’s my week in photos:

Well…these photos are a year old but I did just finally transfer my Vancouver/Victoria photos onto my computer.

The water was FREEZING, they were crazed after they splashed around.this is Caitlyn at Butchart, she looks lovely.final night of Sparks for the year! Though we still have day camp coming up.dog-sat Luna, and Sirius. They were hilarious! Sirius and Holly were non-stop cuddlers. While the kids were BOTH away at camp Shawn and I did family friendly stuff alone! Ha! We went to Westfest, Doors Open Ottawa, and well then we went home for a nap.Dogs also napped, it’s hard work when it’s non stop wrestlemainia. This is only a small section of the mosquito feast that was Nathan’s body. Caitlyn wasn’t nearly as bad at her camp.Holly needed a day to recover after her friends went home.Kids have started to read up on our trip to London.field trip to Upper Canada Village! All the kids were shockingly good!

Nathan and I both marveled at the epic pickles!

And now it’s 7:45 and time to go pick up kids!

Campfire Time

This week has been all about closing up Sparks and making the final preparations for Fun Night. We’re also trying to plan a trip to the U.K. aaand get out patio redone, and have 5!seconds to make plans for the summer. Yep, it’s been a busy week. I saw this somewhere and liked what it said, so I copied it. It’s so true how you worry you’ll be judged on the character from your imagination as a reflection on yourself. Blue hair boy. Nay went off to forest school today pretty darn excited about having a lot of blue hairspray in his hair. Speaking of hair, Holly got her big summer haircut and now she’s like a naked dog running around the house! I redid the side of the house with some mulch and plants. Shawn thinks it wasn’t a good idea since no one can see it but I like it, and it looks a lot better than the patchy grass that was there previously!there was donuts from Art is In last weekend.I have been craving them since last weekend. So so good!!!some Daddy cuddles! Some kitty cuddles! And some puppy cuddles for Holly.

This weekend the kids are BOTH going to camp and Shawn and I are on our own with Holly, Luna, and Sirius. Shawn is very unhappy about this arrangement but I’m looking forward to all the fur love!
